Itinerary*

Day 1

Fly into Turin airport and check into our city centre hotel.  In the evening Professor John Foot will provide a talk on the football history of Torino FC and Juventus.  The evening will be the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow football Aficionado group members.

Day 2

After breakfast we will head to Superga to pay homage to the Grande Torino team that tragically lost their lives in the airplane accident on their return from Benfica in 1949.  After paying our respects to the team captained by Valentino Mazzola we will take the opportunity to visit the 18th century Royal Basilica and appreciate the spectacular elevated views of Turin and the Swiss Alps.  We will then travel to the former FIAT Lingotto factory that was owned by the Juventus owners, the Agnelli family.  We will walk around the famous roof top test track which was used in the popular film 'The Italian Job'.  On our elevated roof walk we will see our next stop, Grande Torino's former stadium 'Filadelfia'.  We will visit the Stadio Filadelfia and Torino's current stadium the Stadio Olimpico.  Our final destinanton for the day will be the history rich Juventus museum at the Allianz Stadium.

Day 3

After breakfast we will travel to the city of Milan.  After checking into our hotel we will set off to the San Siro to watch AC Milan v Torino FC.  Before we enter this football cathedral to cheer on the Rossoneri we will soak up the Italian pre match atmosphere and it will be the perfect opportunity to sample an authentic panini.  After the match you will have the evening to spend at your leisure.

Day 4

We will visit the Museo Mondo Milan after breakfast.  Here we will discover the extensive history of AC Milan, one of the oldest and most successful Italian calcio clubs founded by Englishman Herbert Kilpin in 1899.  In the afternoon we will enjoy our second Italian calcio match in the Lombardy region.

Day 5

Recap on your trip highlights with your new friends over breakfast before making your way home.  If you book an evening flight back you will have the opportunity to explore a bit of Milan and a visit to the Duomo and some gelato at the stunning Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping arcade would be an excellent way to finish your trip.

*This is the intended itinerary and may change as it is subject to the finalisation of the fixtures around three weeks before the trip.  The content of the itinerary should not change however the running order could.

Flights

Flights are not included in the price.

As our tour starts in Turin and ends in Milan we suggest flying into Turin airport (TRN) and flying out of Milan Malpensa airport (MXP).  Direct flights to Turin from the UK are only available from London however you can fly from most airports in the UK to Milan which is only a two hour train journey away from Turin.

For those flying out of London we suggest the following flights;

Thursday 19th March - fly out of London Gatwick (LGW) at 08:45 and land in Turin (TRN) at 11:45 with easyJet

Monday 23rd March - fly out of Milan Malpensa (MXP) at 18:15 and land in London Gatwick (LGW) at 19:15 with easyJet

Tour dates and fixture finalisation

Serie A fixtures are not finalised until about 3 weeks before.  At this point the day (Fri-Mon) and kick-off time will be released.  This is a small possibility the AC Milan v Torino FC fixture could be scheduled for the Monday evening after we have left and in which case we would arrange to watch an alternative fixture in the Lombardy region.

Minimum group number required

This tour requires a minimum of 8 people to run.  As soon as this number is reached we will confirm the tour so you can then book your flights.  In the unlikely even that we need to cancel the tour due to not reaching this number we would return your deposit.
