At this football research centre Esteban will provide a lecture on the history of Argentinian football to provide context for the week ahead. In the evening the group will get acquainted over an authentic asado.
Day 2
After breakfast we will head to the district of La Paternal, the home of Argentinos Juniors that gave Diego Maradona his big break at just 15 years old. With our local guide we will see all of the El Pibe de Oro (The Golden Boy) murals, visit Casa D10S (the house he moved into with his family when he signed for Argentinos Juniors) and then visit their museum at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona. Our guide will then take us to the colourful district of La Boca. After a walk through the famous street of El Caminito and some lunch we will head to one of the world's most instantly recognisable stadiums, La Bombonera. Here we will discover Boca Junior's vast history and success in their incredible museum and see the views inside this stunning stadium.
Day 3
This morning we will explore the district of Boedo, the spiritual home of San Lorenzo de Almagro. We will discover the history of San Lorenzo through the 20 plus street murals with our local guide. In the afternoon we will attend our first football match in Buenos Aires. You will no doubt be tempted to try a tasty choripán outside the stadium, an Argentinian sandwich originating from the 'gauchos' (Argentinian cowboys).
Day 4
We will have a leisurely morning as we have a football feast in store attending 2 matches.
Day 5
After breakfast we will explore the famous San Telmo market and street fair. This renowned market in this bohemian district is the perfect opportunity to soak in the Argentinian culture and sample the local cuisine. In the afternoon we will watch our 4th football match in Buenos Aires.
Day 6
In the morning we will head to the largest stadium in South America and the venue of the 1978 World Cup Final, River Plate's El Monumental. We will explore this iconic stadium and the history of the 38 times Primera Division champions in their extensive museum. After leaving El Monumental we will visit the nearby ESMA Museum and Site of Memory. We will learn how innocent Argentinians were taken here for punishment under the rule of the military junta whilst the 1978 World Cup was being hosted. In the afternoon we will visit the Falkland Islands memorial and the Evita Peron museum.
Day 7
Today we take a guided history tour of three iconic stadiums, Estadio Libertadores de América, Estadio Thomás Adolfo Ducó and the Estadio Presidente Perón. Our local guide and historian Estaban Bekerman will deliver all of the insight and stores of the three residing clubs. You will find Huracan's Estadio Thomás Adolfo Ducó particularly striking with it's art deco design, concrete seats and huge majestic tower. You will have some time to spend at your leisure in the afternoon. On our last evening we will enjoy a group farewell dinner together.

All good things must come to and end and sadly today we must say goodbye to Buenos Aires and make out way back home.
